Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist specializing in Old Age Psychiatry to join our team in Essex based in a CMHT setting. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality psychiatric care to older adults, contributing to the overall mental health and well-being of the community.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments of older adults with a range of mental health conditions.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Provide expert psychiatric consultation to colleagues, healthcare professionals, and families.
- Participate in the development and delivery of Old Age Psychiatry services.
- Contribute to the training and supervision of junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date clinical records, complying with relevant guidelines and standards.
- Stay informed about advancements in Old Age Psychiatry and participate in continuous professional development.
Requirements:
- Medical degree and completion of specialist training in Psychiatry.
- Section 12 Approval
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and inclusion on the Specialist Register for Old Age Psychiatry.
- Substantial experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist, with a focus on Old Age Psychiatry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
