Job Description:

Pulse is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist specializing in Mental Health to join a dynamic healthcare team in Middlesex for a duration of 12 weeks. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality occupational therapy services to individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals with mental health conditions, and develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

  2. Therapeutic Interventions: Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to support individuals in achieving their mental health goals, promoting independence, and enhancing their overall well-being.

  3. Collaborative Approach: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to patient care.

  4. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, documenting assessments, interventions, and progress. Provide timely and comprehensive reports as required.

  5. Patient and Family Education: Educate individuals and their families on coping strategies, self-management techniques, and activities to support ongoing mental health recovery.

  6. Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and contribute to risk management plans, ensuring the safety of individuals under care.

  7. Supervision and Training: Provide supervision and training to junior staff, students, and other healthcare professionals as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  2. HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  3. Proven experience in mental health occupational therapy at Band 6 level or equivalent.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
