We are currently seeking a dedicated Specialty Doctor in Adult Psychiatry with Section 12 approval to join a reputable mental health service in Leeds. This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality psychiatric care to adult patients, with a focus on assessment, treatment, and support for individuals experiencing mental health challenges. This position is available to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours for an ongoing period. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and formulate evidence-based treatment plans for adult patients with mental health disorders.
  • Provide psychiatric consultation and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated care and holistic treatment approaches.
  • Act as an approved clinician under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act, assessing patients' mental state and capacity to make informed decisions regarding their care and treatment.
  • Participate in the management of patients detained under the Mental Health Act, including contributing to MHA assessments, detention reviews, and tribunal hearings.
  • Facilitate therapeutic interventions, including medication management, psychological therapies, and social support services, to promote recovery and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of clinical assessments, treatment plans, and interventions in accordance with regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Specialty training in Psychiatry and relevant experience working as a Specialty Doctor in Adult Psychiatry.
  • Section 12 approval and eligibility to act as an approved clinician under the Mental Health Act.
  • Excellent clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health disorders in adult patients.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, with a compassionate and empathetic approach to addressing patients' mental health needs.
