We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Band 8a Clinical Psychologist with expertise in Neurology to join a reputable healthcare facility in Liverpool on a permanent basis. As a Band 8a Clinical Psychologist within Neuro, you will play a pivotal role in providing specialist psychological assessment, intervention, and support to patients with neurological conditions and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of patients with neurological conditions, utilizing a range of standardized neuropsychological measures and clinical interviews.
- Develop and implement individualized psychological interventions and treatment plans, tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each patient.
- Provide evidence-based psychological therapy, cognitive rehabilitation, and psychoeducation to patients and their families, addressing psychological and emotional challenges associated with neurological conditions.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including neurologists, neuropsychiatrists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists, to ensure integrated care and holistic support for patients.
- Participate in clinical supervision, case conferences, and team meetings, contributing expertise and insights to inform patient care and service development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation and adhere to professional standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Doctoral-level qualification in Clinical Psychology from a recognized institution.
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist and eligibility for Chartered status with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- Significant post-qualification experience working as a Clinical Psychologist within Neurology, preferably within a healthcare setting.
- Advanced knowledge and expertise in neuropsychological assessment, formulation, and evidence-based interventions for a range of neurological conditions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
