Are you a compassionate and dedicated Wheelchair Therapist looking for an exciting new role?

Pulse is now seeking to recruit a Band 6 or 7 Occupational Therapist who specialises in wheelchair therapy, to join a well-established team at our client’s NHS trust in Greater Manchester. The post is available to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours per week with the placement from 14/02/2024 to 14/05/2024.

The role will be to undertake assessments and provide wheelchairs to children and adults, ranging from basic to complex seating. Assessments of appropriate pressure relief  and postural needs are also integral to this post. The service also provides powered wheelchairs, and this involves assessment and environmental assessment. As a therapist, you will be supported by a technical engineering team and external maintenance company, you will also be required to work in both clinic and external venues including schools and patient’s homes.

Duties within this role will include:

  • Providing advice on wheelchair product range for patient’s comfort
  • Manage own caseload
  • Providing advice, arranging equipment or recommending alterations to the home, to ensure safe and competent use of such equipment
  • Advising easier and safer ways of managing everyday activities i.e. washing, dressing, household tasks and activities
  • Being professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of own work

To be considered for this role you must:

  • Be HCPC registered
  • Have previous experience working within a similar role
  • Hold the relevant degree/qualifications in occupational therapy
