An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic NHS client in Knowle, Hampshire This vacancy is available to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours per week in a permanent role. As this is a band 5 position, our client will also welcome Newly Qualified Occupational Therapists as well as experienced candidates.

As a Band 5 Mental Health Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in the assessment and treatment of individuals with mental health conditions. The postholder will be conducting assessments to determine clients’ functional abilities and limitations as well as developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to address clients’ specific needs and goals. Applying therapists must have previous mental health experience to be considered for this role.

Duties will include:

  • Care-coordinating
  • Attending MDT meetings
  • Contribute to the holistic assessment of physical and mental wellbeing needs.
  • Assessment and intervention of individual patients needs and progress.
  • Treating patients for a range of moderate to complex mental health conditions
  • Working with other healthcare professionals

The Successful Candidate should be/have:

  • A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
  • They need to have experience of working in mental health due to the complex nature of the patients.
  • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to manage highly demanding clinical presentation
