Pulse, a leading recruitment agency in the healthcare sector, is currently seeking a Band 7 CBT Therapist to join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team in Essex. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced Cognitive Behavioral Therapist to contribute to the mental well-being of children and adolescents. The appointed Cognitive Behavioural Therapist will be able to start as soon as possible, working full-time/part-time hours each week for 3 months initially. Candidates need to ideally hold experience of working with CYP and within CAMHS.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of young individuals to determine the appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  2. Provide evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to children and adolescents with a range of mental health disorders.
  3. Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure integrated care.
  4. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in accordance with the needs of the service users.
  5. Offer therapeutic support and interventions to families and carers as part of a holistic approach to treatment.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies.
  7. Contribute to the ongoing development and evaluation of therapeutic services within CAMHS.
  8. Keep abreast of the latest developments in CBT and related therapeutic approaches, participating in relevant training and professional development activities.

Requirements:

  1. Qualified as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist with BABCP accreditation.
  2. Experience working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
  3. Band 7 NHS experience or equivalent in a similar role.
  4. Knowledge of a range of therapeutic approaches, with a focus on CBT.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  6. A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.

To be considered for this role, applying therapists must have the following:

  • A postgraduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Full BABCP accreditation
  • Completed LTC training
  • Extensive Mental Health experience
  • The ability to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients
  • Be comfortable providing 1:1 or group consultation (face-to-face and via telephone)
  • An IAPT supervision course is ideal, but not essential for the role
  • Be empathetic and understanding
