Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist who has experience within Pediatrics?

Pulse is now seeking a band 6 Occupational Therapist to work within a pediatric service at an NHS trust based in Berkshire. The post is available to start as soon as possible, ideally part time hours but full time is also option.

To be considered for this role applying therapists must have previous experience of working within a pediatric setting. You will be working with a varied caseload of children who have complex needs. The caseload is 4 children with EHCP’s requiring OT with an additional 1-2 pupils. The school requires assessment, targets and interventions including programmes for fine and gross motor skills. Applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Some duties within this post will include:

  • Ensuring that young people are prepared for the transition to adult life
  • Fine motor assessments
  • To focus on face to face assessments in clinic and school settings
  • Managing own caseload efficiently
  • Treating patients with complex needs, learning difficulties or biomechanical problems
  • Liaising with other healthcare professionals

Skills and experience needed:

  • Relevant degree/qualifications in occupational therapy
  • OT Qualification mandatory
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Previous experience working within a Pediatric service - Ideally NHS
  • Encouraging attitude
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Be compassionate and empathetic
  • Good team work skills
