An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 6 Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic NHS trust in Croydon, Surrey. This vacancy is available to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours per week for an initial 3-month period.
The Occupational Therapist in the post will work within an adult mental health service. The role involves conducting assessments, care planning and caseload management. The role would also cover the Duty Service maximum of one day per week or less. The service accepts referrals for adults aged 18 to 65 years.
Duties will include:
- Care-coordinating
- Attending MDT meetings
- Contribute to the holistic assessment of physical and mental wellbeing needs.
- Assessment and intervention of individual patients' needs and progress.
- Treating patients for a range of moderate to complex mental health conditions
- Working with other healthcare professionals
The Successful Candidate should be/have:
- A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
- They need to have experience of working in mental health due to the complex nature of the patients.
- An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Ability to manage highly demanding clinical presentation
- Car driver is essential
