We are seeking an experienced Band 6 Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team to help. Those who use drugs and alcohol. To help engage in community-based treatment to secure long-term accommodation. The post can start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours per week in a locum role.

Ideally, The post holder will have previous experience working with addictions and be compassionate, patient and a problem-solver. The right candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic, using this post as an opportunity to develop their broader leadership and professional skill set alongside their clinical skills.

The role includes:

  • Providing psychological assessment, formulation, and interventions - working closely and liaising with the MDT/RSPT to develop comprehensive formulations and care plans.
  • Delivering individual and group-based treatments with a focus on skills and strategies to manage difficult and distressing emotions.
  • Adapting standard interventions to the particular demands of the Team working including brief crisis interventions and working with families and, carers, and other members of the community.
  • Delivering and/or evaluating trauma informed approaches to care, in particular, by introducing team formulations.
  • Developing specific training to enhance the systematic provision of psychological interventions offered to service users.
  • Reflective practice, supervision, consultation.

With the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to service development and transformation across the service.
  • Conduct service evaluation and quality improvement projects.
  • Receive teaching/training in trauma informed approaches to care and other agreed areas.

To be considered for this role you must:

  • Hold a doctorate in either Clinical or Counselling Psychology
  • Be HCPC registered
  • Have previous experience with addictions
  • Be analytical and show good attention to detail
