Pulse seeks a determined and experienced Clinical psychologist to join our client's Learning Disabilities team within an NHS trust based in Croydon, Surrey. This position will be available for the appointed Practitioner to start as soon as possible, offering full-time and part-time hours for an ongoing period.  

The successful candidate must have strong skills working with people with intellectual disabilities and neurodevelopmental conditions, trauma histories, and mental health issues and will be highly experienced in working within a Positive Behaviour Support model. Facilitating consultation, teaching, and training is an integral part of the role. The successful applicant will join a highly valued Psychology service as part of the multidisciplinary team for adults with intellectual disabilities. The post holder will provide a highly specialist clinical psychology service within the Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT), including specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes. To take the lead and coordinate some of the multidisciplinary pathways in the CLDT, supervise and support clinical psychological assessment and intervention provided by other psychologists, including recently qualified psychologists, behaviour specialist practitioners, assistant psychologists and trainee clinical psychologists, and work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for clinical practice within a current caseload.

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be HCPC registered
  • Have a proven track record in working with mild to complex learning disabilities
  • Be analytical and show good attention to detail
