Are you a compassionate Occupational Therapist who specialises in Learning Disabilities?
Our client is currently seeking a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join their fantastic Learning Disabilities Team which is within an NHS trust based in Bedford. This position will be available for the successful therapist to start immediately, working full-time hours per week with the placement due to end on 29.12.23.
The postholder will manage a defined caseload, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. The successful candidate will provide a person-centred Occupational Therapy Service for Adults with Learning Disabilities and complex healthcare needs as well as be an active member of the Learning Disability Occupational Therapy Service and Services for People who have a Learning Disability. Applying therapists must have previous experience of working with people with LD and/or autism to be considered for this role.
Applying OT’s must have:
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Degree/qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Extensive experience within a similar NHS setting
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to work well within a team
- Ability to build good relationships with patients
Duties within this role will include:
- ASD assessment
- Carrying out functional assessments
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Treating clients with Autism/ADHD
- Managing own caseload
- Being legally and professionally accountable for own work
