Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist specialising in strokes and neurological conditions?

Pulse is seeking a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join our client’s acute and rehab wards at a well-established NHS trust in West Bromwich, Staffordshire. The role is available for the successful therapist to start as soon as possible, offering full-time and potential part-time hours per week for an ongoing period.

The postholder will work predominantly in the acute and rehabilitation wards with options to support the community rehabilitation team. The successful candidate will have the ability to support in staff training and supervision and support service leads in service delivery objectives. Applying therapists must have advanced assessment and treatment skills in Stroke and neurological rehabilitation including physical and cognitive rehabilitation to be considered for this role.

Duties within this role will include:

  • Initial assessments/brain injury assessments
  • Rehabilitation
  • Help to develop skills
  • Increase range of motion
  • Providing support and advice to carers and family members
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Managing own caseload

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold the relevant degree/qualifications in Occupational Therapy
  • Current HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • Have significant neuro/stroke experience
  • Be patient and communicative towards patients with a range of neuro conditions
