Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist with a keen interest in mental health?
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 5 Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic private client in London. This vacancy is available to start as soon as possible, offering part-time hours per week in a permanent role. As this is a band 5 position, our client will also welcome Newly Qualified Occupational Therapists as well as experienced candidates.
The postholder will complete OT assessments both standardised and non-standardised to inform therapeutic interventions, plan and facilitate groups on the existing timetable, complete 1:1 therapeutic interventions and feedback to the MDT. The applicant will be expected to feedback in ward round and support with discharge planning - providing reports and liaising with community teams for successful discharge. It is preferred applying therapists have previous mental health experience, if newly qualified - experience within placement/HCA roles/ volunteering etc. is acceptable.
Salary: £26,532 pro rata
Duties will include:
- Care-coordinating
- Attending MDT meetings
- Contribute to the holistic assessment of physical and mental wellbeing needs.
- Assessment and intervention of individual patients needs and progress.
- Treating patients for a range of moderate to complex mental health conditions
- Working with other healthcare professionals
The Successful Candidate should be/have:
- A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
- They need to have experience of working in mental health due to the complex nature of the patients.
- An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Ability to manage highly demanding clinical presentation
