Band 6 - Occupational Therapist - Paediatric - Reading

Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist who has experience within Paediatrics?

Pulse is now seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to work within a paediatric disability service at an innovative private trust in Reading, Berkshire. The post is available to start as soon as possible, offering 37 hours per week for an ongoing period.

The applying Occupational Therapist will support and assess individual’s needs in relation to their occupational performance with the aim of promoting independence, quality of life and personal development within the framework provided by Statute, Guidance, Policy and Procedures. The postholder will also ensure that the support offered assesses individual’s social care needs with the aim of promoting independence and the meeting of these needs through provision of adaptation and/or equipment.

Some duties within this post will include:

·        Ensuring that young people are prepared for the transition to adult life

·        Fine motor assessments

·        Managing own caseload efficiently

·        Treating patients with complex needs, learning difficulties or biomechanical problems

·        Liaising with other healthcare professionals

Skills and experience needed:

·        Relevant degree/qualifications in occupational therapy

·        Current HCPC registration

·        Previous experience working within a Paediatric service - Ideally NHS

·        Encouraging attitude

·        Ability to think outside the box

·        Be compassionate and empathetic

·        Good team work skills
