Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist who has experience within Paediatrics?

Pulse is now seeking a Band 6/7 Occupational Therapist to work within a paediatric service at an innovative private trust in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. The post is available to start as soon as possible, working full-time hours per week on a permanent basis.

The successful Occupational Therapist will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to establish and develop an occupational therapy service to meet the needs of pupils across the academy. The postholder will carry out an integrated approach to embedding therapeutic strategies across the curriculum which will provide support for students with ASC and SEMH (including those to support sensory processing difficulties, self-care and life skills, fine motor skills, gross motor and coordination skills, visual perception skills, etc.) and  a range of targeted and specialist interventions to meet specific functional needs within the environment as part of a holistic, integrated approach.  

Some duties within this post will include:

  • Ensuring that young people are prepared for the transition to adult life
  • Fine motor assessments
  • Managing own caseload efficiently
  • Treating patients with complex needs, learning difficulties or biomechanical problems
  • Liaising with other healthcare professionals

Skills and experience needed:

  • Relevant degree/qualifications in occupational therapy
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Previous experience working within a Paediatric service - Ideally NHS
  • Encouraging attitude
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Be compassionate and empathetic
  • Good team work skills
