Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist who has experience within Paediatrics?

Pulse is now seeking a band 5/6/7 Occupational Therapist to work within a paediatric service at an innovative private trust in London. The post is available to start as soon as possible, working 36 hours on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will work alongside the school Therapy Leads and existing therapists to design and implement a centralised ‘streams’ model, working on one or two streams within their interest, e.g., high and low tech AAC / neuro-diverse support to deliver evidence-based interventions. Pupils at the schools have a wide range of health conditions (e.g., PMLD, SLD, MLD, ASD) and the therapy team is an integral part of pupils accessing the curriculum. There is close working with families and school staff, NHS and social care teams, and the onsite multidisciplinary team including nurses, dietician and paediatricians as well as joint clinics e.g., orthotics/ wheelchair.

Rates: £32,805 to £54,975 per annum

Some duties within this post will include:

  • Ensuring that young people are prepared for the transition to adult life
  • Fine motor assessments
  • Managing own caseload efficiently
  • Treating patients with complex needs, learning difficulties or biomechanical problems
  • Liaising with other healthcare professionals

Skills and experience needed:

  • Relevant degree/qualifications in occupational therapy
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Previous experience working within a Paediatric service - Ideally NHS
  • Encouraging attitude
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Be compassionate and empathetic
  • Good team work skills
