About the role:
We are seeking a creative and results-focused leader to drive growth through strategic partnerships and other business development opportunities. The Business Development Lead, Media Partnerships will be responsible for identifying and forming net-new partnerships that grow Public’s member base and help drive revenue, while improving brand awareness and reputation.
This role will also own and advance existing relationships and initiatives by driving solutions that continue to provide value to our partners, in alignment with Public’s business objectives.
This role is based in New York and will report directly to our VP, Acquisition.
What you’ll do:
- Use your extensive knowledge of the fintech, business, and media landscape to grow Public’s network; you’ll build mutually beneficial and trusting relationships with up-and-coming private companies, as well as the more established public institutions.
- Leverage our unique position in the market to identify organic, revenue generating business opportunities.
- Craft and implement strategic, high-quality partnerships that help us progress towards our growth goals, while improving our brand awareness and perception.
- Establish a business cadence by building and executing operational rigor around all initiatives, and manage the partnerships pipeline with internal and external collaborators.
- Measure and assess both ongoing and campaign-specific efforts against previously defined goals and KPIs to determine success, develop learnings, and optimize future efforts.
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to understand our product. You will be expected to develop a deep knowledge of our feature-set and roadmap. Relatedly, it will be important for you to maintain a thorough understanding of the competitive fintech landscape.
Who you are:
- 7+ years in business development, partner management, or a related field, with a strong understanding of consumer product metrics (CAC, ROAS, etc). Bonus points for account management experience at fintech, consumer tech, and/or media companies, or high-growth startups.
- You have demonstrated success in building authentic industry relationships, and with top-tier contacts across consumer, tech, business, media, and/or pop-culture. And as such, you maintain a proven track record of developing high-impact partnerships.
- You are entrepreneurial, proactive and driven; from relationship building to actually executing the work – you thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, and are willing to roll up your sleeves to get things done.
- You have excellent communication and operational skills. You manage projects, time, and relationships exceedingly well.
- You are highly organized and detail oriented. Whether you’re working alone or within a broader team, you continue to drive the work forward, all while keeping your key stakeholders informed of and aligned with your progress.

The pay range for this position in NYC is $120,000-$190,000 / year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location.
