Title: Platform Engineer I
Department: Internal Operations
Reports To: Manager, Site Reliability
Location: Ireland
Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Platform Engineer I to join our growing team. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and scaling our internal platforms that power our applications and services. This role requires a strong understanding of infrastructure technologies and a passion for creating reliable and efficient systems. Additionally, you will be part of an on-call rotation, responsible for responding to and resolving critical platform incidents outside of regular business hours.
Platform Engineers will work directly with Product Engineering to leverage cloud environments to create optimal solutions. PE not only guides developers but will also directly implement changes within core code bases to utilize new features of the platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior engineers in designing, developing, and implementing platform solutions
- Learn and gain experience with cloud platforms (AWS)
- Contribute to building and maintaining infrastructure automation tools (Terraform)
- Support the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines
- Assist with monitoring and troubleshooting platform issues
- Work with developers to understand their needs and how the platform can support them
- Document platform processes and procedures
- Continuously learn new technologies and stay up-to-date with the latest trends in platform engineering
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 0-2 years of experience as a Platform Engineer, Software Engineer or similar position.
- Experience with a general purpose programming language such as Python, Java or Golang
- Familiarity with Cloud technologies, specifically AWS is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

- Strong passion for learning about our products and markets through in-house and external training.
- Experience in high-growth /pre-IPO Technology companies
