Selling as a distributor is complicated. Distributors carry hundreds of thousands of complicated SKUs, making it impossible for distributors to know what their customers need. Proton cuts through this complexity with AI. We provide a solution that modernizes distributors' sales efforts. And in doing so, we help distributors better serve their customers.

The Role:

We’re looking for a VP of Sales to rapidly build our sales team and grow company revenue. Our sales team owns the customer relationship throughout the sales process to get deals closed, working multi-month sales cycles with six figure ACVs. As the leader of this team, you’ll be responsible for hiring, coaching, and managing AEs, with the goal of hitting ambitious sales targets over the next few years. Our sales team is currently 4 account executives, 5 BDRs, and we hope to expand to 12+ account executives within the next 6-12 months.

What you'll do:

  • Own our broader sales revenue goals including forecasting, operations, enablement, organizational design and more.

  • Build, motivate and direct a high-performing sales org and guide them to exceeding targets as both individual performers and as a team. Key qualities to succeed in our environment thus far include inquisitiveness, intelligence, and drive.

  • Coach and motivate reps to become the best sellers possible, using a combination of data-driven coaching and inspirational leadership.

  • Serve as a strategic resource on deals when needed to remove roadblocks and accelerate a close

  • Do whatever it takes to hit ambitious revenue targets. We expect to more than triple revenue in 2021, and have a goal of tripling again in 2022.

You'll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • You are self-directed and thrive in an early-stage fast-paced sales environment (Series A-C)

  • You apply a consultative approach and excel in setting and surpassing customer expectations

  • You have a proven track record selling sophisticated and innovative solutions

  • You have experience selling at the VP/C-level and to other key decision-makers

  • You are passionate about leading teams with the innate ability to connect with and inspire your team to hit and exceed sales targets

  • You are a team player with a collaborative personal style

  • You are adaptable to changing market conditions and customer requirements

  • Led teams in a true enterprise software environment - sales cycles over 3 months, ACV over $50K, multi-stakeholder, complex purchase

This is a full-time, fully remote position (within the United States), with occasional travel to in-person meetups.
