The Role

Our Business Development team is brand new. As Proton's Manager of Business Development, you will hire, train and develop our growing BDR team. Currently, we have 2 Senior BDRs - Sean and Austin -  who have recently joined our team and report directly to Jill, our VP of Sales. You will take over managing our current 2-person BDR team and increase team size to 5 BDRs by the end of 2021 - with more growth to follow.

You will have significant impact on:

  • Building our business: You’ll build processes and infrastructure that support your team, working closely with Sales & Marketing to ensure goals and activities are aligned.

  • Building the BDR Team: You will create a plan for hiring and onboarding new BDRs,

  • Coaching and Mentoring Team Members: You’ll develop the sales skills and acumen of each team member. 

  • Collecting, analyzing and interpreting BD data in the field (team calls, email communications): You’ll gain a clear understanding of what’s working and how we can iterate and scale

  • Presenting findings: You’ll report on Team/Individual Results with the VP of Sales and Leadership Team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Managerial experience in business development (cold outbound outreach) for an enterprise software company.

  • Passionate about training and developing eager BDRs who are early in their career.

  • Excellent communication skills - for example, writing effective email and call scripts.

  • Experience with CRM software (HubSpot preferred).

  • Interested in learning our space - B2B distribution & Artificial Intelligence.

  • Self-starter, scrappy, and data-driven with a growth mindset.


This is a full-time remote position with equity, health benefits (we pay 99%), 401k and a generous vacation policy. Compensation: $100k base, $150k OTE.
