Your Role

This position will support multiple mixed-age Montessori classrooms. No formal Montessori training is needed to apply. We will provide training as part of your orientation and on-boarding. If you love working with infants, toddlers or preschoolers, you will love seeing them become independent in our classrooms.

This is an on-call position where we will reach out to you as-needed to provide coverage when full-time teachers are out sick or on vacation. 

The Substitute Teacher role is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door at Guidepost Montessori. Many of our substitutes ultimately transition into full-time Assistant Teachers with us when new openings become available. About You

  • Experience working with children ages 0-6 and Elementary
  • Valid North Carolina Early Childhood CRC (Criminal Record Check) Qualification Letter
  • Valid negative TB test taken within last 12 months (prior to start date with Guidepost)
  • Ability to work well with other adults
  • Growth mindset and problem-solving approach

We will prefer you over other candidates if you are

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (required for Spanish immersion classrooms)
  • Have familiarity with the Montessori approach to education
