Position Summary:

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary leader to join our technology department as Deputy to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). As number two to the CTO, this role is critical to shaping and executing the firm’s technology strategy, driving innovation and operational excellence across the organization. The Deputy CTO will oversee all aspects of the firm’s technology infrastructure, ensuring it is aligned with business goals and the demands of the financial services sector. This full-time role requires extensive experience in technology leadership, as well as deep expertise in financial services and technology platforms. While deep ETF-specific knowledge is not required, familiarity with asset management operations is beneficial. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic direction, oversight, and management of technology initiatives, with a focus on scalability, security, and high availability.

Essential Job Functions[1]:

  • Partner with the CTO to define and execute the company’s technology vision, roadmap, and innovation strategy.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for enterprise-wide technology initiatives.
  • Define and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with business goals through exceptional communication skills, with the ability to draft concise project proposals to secure approval for key initiatives.
  • Oversee the management of cloud infrastructure management across platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud for scalability and security.
  • Lead and optimize software development practices to ensure high-quality and efficient solutions.
  • Manage data systems including analytics platforms, ETL pipelines, to ensure real-time data processing capabilities.
  • Ensure robust regulatory compliance and cybersecurity strategies to manage risk.
  • Integrate cutting-edge AI solutions to optimize business processes.
  • Drive vendor management and strategic partnerships to enhance technology capabilities and service delivery.
  • Champion a culture of innovation and technical excellence within the technology team and across the firm.

 Education and Required Experience:

  • 12+ years of management and leadership experience in IT and technology, preferably within financial services or asset management.
  • At least 5 years in an executive capacity overseeing cross-functional technology teams.
  • Familiarity with core financial technology components such as data management, security frameworks, and business intelligence platforms.
  • Cloud certifications are desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Information Systems, or a related technical field is highly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of financial services technology with asset management experience, including familiarity with both front- and back-office operations in financial services, is preferable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cloud computing technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and infrastructure management, including designing scalable, secure, and highly available systems.
  • Proven experience with data analytics, data warehousing, and business intelligence platforms, as well as familiarity with ETL pipelines and data taxonomies.
  • Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity practices, including risk management, vulnerability assessment, and implementing security frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with artificial intelligence applications and integrating AI solutions across business units.
  • Proven success in implementing CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and software development best practices.

The compensation for this position includes salary and incentive pay. The annual base salary range for this role is $195,000-$275,000USD which does not include discretionary bonus compensation. Total compensation may vary based on experience, role, location, department, and individual performance.
