Key responsibilities:

  • Oversees all activities related to procurement of a commodity, from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity.
  • Negotiates or supervises the negotiation of complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Liaise with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the business with the supplier.
  • Manage delivery timelines internally and with the sub-contractor/vendor.
  • Monitor supplier cost/quality and delivery performance and drive actions for improvement where necessary
  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
  • Overseeing and agreeing contracts and providers for services including security, parking, cleaning, catering, technology etc.
  • Supervising multi-disciplinary teams of staff including cleaning, maintenance, grounds and security
  • Allocating and managing office space and ensure that basic facilities are well-maintained
  • Ensuring that facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards
  • Advising businesses on increasing energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Overseeing building projects, renovations, or refurbishments.
  • Helping businesses to relocate to new offices and to make decisions about leasing
  • Maintain ongoing communication with contractors, clients, and team
  • Fostering a professional working environment

Desired qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Facilities & Procurement in Egypt in SMEs.
  • Proven experience as facilities & Procurement manager or relevant position
  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
  • Bachelor’s Degree in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant field
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM, CPP, CIPS) will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management
  • Internal and External Stakeholder management experience
  • Relevant procurement experience in SME companies where processes need to be defined, implemented and/or improved.
