YOUR ROLE AND IMPACT
Prometheus is looking for a Commercial Building Utility Engineer for its Commercial division that will be stationed in our San Mateo region. This position performs skilled work in the physical operation, maintenance and repair of commercial building equipment and is responsible to assist with the preservation of these assets.
- Daily Operations - Assist the team in safe and efficient operation of all systems in the facility including but not limited to reading meters and gauges, listening to machinery, troubleshooting equipment, maintain building systems (heaters, pump values, etc.), adjusting controls, and monitor conditions throughout the building through video display terminals. Along with these items, a building utility engineer should be able to write detailed reports and logs of repairs, installations, test results, instrument readings and any preventive maintenance work they have performed.
- Supportive Duties - Contribute to the achievement of property financial goals through effective productivity and cost-effective management of maintenance functions, without compromising quality. In addition, a building utility engineer will be asked to help schedule and assist vendors throughout our commercial sites to make sure they have met all requirements of each property.
HERE'S MORE OF THE NITTY-GRITTY:
The Commercial Building Utility Engineer possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Class A high-rise building and mixed-use experience preferred
- Familiarity with FACP, Electrical, Fire Life Safety Systems, and building automation
- Should be familiar with typical areas of commercial buildings, locks, plumbing, roofs, HVAC, and life safety equipment. One to two years’ work experience in Commercial HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repairs preferred.
- Must possess basic computational skills; add, subtract, divide, and multiply. Must be able to prepare and analyze data figures and transcriptions generated by a computer
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be comfortable using hand and power tools.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Compensation
- Pay Range: $30.00 to $38.00 per hour
