What you’ll do:

Role Overview

The Program Manager (Consultant) will support the implementation for all cash transfer programs in India. As a critical member of the India project team, you will support operations, stakeholder engagement, monitoring, and internal coordination. You will be expected to support the Senior Manager across multiple projects, and as a result, you must be excited to work in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable managing multiple workstreams at one time. 

Program Operations Support

  • Support implementation partner’s field ops processes, including outreach and enrollment, management of field teams, customer service, recipient experience, and execution across various program stages
  • Lead internal program management coordination with global program
  • Monitoring the security in the areas of operations to ensure the team and recipients can operate safely
  • Review and conduct quality checks by our implementation partner to highlight team-specific ethical and value gaps

Strategy/Planning

  • Develop annual, quarterly, and monthly objectives for the India project in consultation with the Senior Manager   
  • Work closely with partnerships and global finance to set annual goals/targets, develop annual budgets, and create/maintain annual work plans 
  • Conceiving, developing, and testing new protocols and methods, prior to initiating scale-up
  • Support Senior Managers in identifying and evaluating strategic and operational risks across programs, and ideate and execute strategies to mitigate risk

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including local partners, field and tech partners, key community members, government, donors, and research partners
  • Build knowledge of the community we are serving, and support by identifying existing local resources or services relevant to recipients
  • Support GiveDirectly’s expansion into new areas and maintain existing operations by securing national and local government approvals
  • Build the capacity of partner staff at various levels by ensuring they have clearly defined metrics for success and regular feedback mechanisms

Monitoring & Reporting/ Data & Analysis

  • Develop high-quality reports for national and local government authorities and ensure compliance to national and local government protocols.
  • Leading survey creation and updates for new and existing projects
  • Set and owning quantifiable targets e.g., around households enrolled and operational efficiency
  • Write reports and dashboards that reflect team performance against set objectives and internal audit operations quality bars

Other

  • Support knowledge management and process documentation, refreshing protocol and process docs regularly
  • Workplan management and running performance reviews for direct reports and building their capacity to do the same for their reports
  • Support on identifying and onboarding high-capacity national Internal Audit team

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of work or volunteer experience in a role that required project management and people management/coordination
  • Highly ethical and aligned with the values and mission of GiveDirectly 
  • Be able to support multiple workstreams simultaneously, especially by driving process
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage day-to-day operations and propose & implement process improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly independent and self-directed manner, while effectively communicating upwardly about gaps and risks
  • Enthusiasm for fast-paced environments, which may lack a pre-defined playbook for success and involve significant “learning by doing”

 

Compensation
At GiveDirectly, we strive to pay our employees generously and equitably. We use an accredited third party salary aggregator to ensure that staff’s total compensation package (base compensation + bonus) falls within the 75th percentile of similar roles, at similar organizations. We also have a no negotiation policy to ensure we are paying staff equitably across roles.
  • The annual base salary for this role is USD 37,800 USD
