Position Summary     

The Senior Print Technician reports to the Technical Support Manager and is responsible for resolving escalated technical issues and providing second level support to the Print Technician(s) on Printforia's fleet of digital printing equipment. The Senior Print Technician will be a key contributor to meeting the performance measures established for the overall technical support team. The Senior Technician will possess a strong knowledge in diagnosing electro-mechanical equipment including inkjet printing technology, servo motors/drivers, ink delivery systems,  pneumatics, to note a few.

You’ll create impact by: 

  • Serve as level two support resource within the technical support escalation process. May require occasional after hours on-site presence to resolve urgent issues.
  • Key contributor in supporting and driving uptime goals of all equipment (inkjet printers, dryers, etc.). This includes repair/diagnosis of electromechanical or software issues.
  • Documenting and reporting issues accurately.
  • Report to the Technical Support Manager on daily directives, goals, misses, quality errors, and productivity metrics
  • Participate in hands-on training  with printing technology manufacturers and partners to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Printforia’s digital printing systems.
  • Key contributor to providing input and recommendations to SOPs and documentation around the installation, preventative maintenance and technical support of Printforia’s digital printing systems.
  • Recommend changes to existing policies and procedures as required to improve operations in efficient achievement of performance indicators or to support changing business requirements; provide input and/or assistance in formulating new policies and procedures
  • Mentor to the Print Technicians
  • Provide feedback and recommendations regarding the supply chain of parts and consumables needed to keep Printforia’s digital printing systems operational.
  • Regularly communicate with other Printforia teams to foster an effective team environment and assure that these areas are aware of issues that may impact their area.

What you’ll need:

  • 3-5  years of experience of diagnosing, repairing, and supporting the overall general maintenance of print machinery, preferably inkjet machine experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
  • Experience operating industrial inkjet equipment preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment preferred.
  • Ability to provide detailed technical feedback relevant to the status of the machine.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Superior mechanical, electrical and printing knowledge and capabilities.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of computer technology.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity and continuous desire to learn and grow.
  • Desire to take on high-level of responsibility in regards to ownership of the machine.
  • Understanding of navigating computer workstations and basic networking familiarity

 Differentiators will have: 

  • Experience operating industrial inkjet equipment (Ovaljet, Durst, EFI, Agfa, etc.).
  • Experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Familiar with RIP software (Fiery XF, Caldera, Onyx, etc).
  • Familiar with using multimeter, reading schematics, and interpreting technical manuals.
  • Curiosity of how things work and relate to each other.
  • Familiar with using multimeter, reading schematics, and interpreting technical manuals.
  • Understanding of navigating computer workstations and basic networking familiarity.
