Job Overview


PES is seeking an experienced Procurement Category Manager of our Technology Portfolio who will leverage their advanced capabilities in the technology procurement space to build Enterprise-wide coordination and collaboration in contract management, supplier management, spend management, and governance. Your immediate focus will be on our core Technology & Platform Infrastructure, and over time you will expand into technology sourcing solutions for our evolving advanced analytics platforms.You will prioritize strategy, cost, and performance for technology procurement across our ecosystem of companies while driving efficiency. You will work closely with internal partners within our Enterprise services team and across our Operating companies to assess the current state of our technology portfolio and develop and implement best practices for the future.   

The ideal candidate will have additional sourcing expertise within various indirect categories; however, the main focus of the position is Technology sourcing.  This role is NOT remote and the preferred location for this hybrid position is Charlotte, NC (Ballantyne area).  Other locations that may be considered for a hybrid schedule are Dallas, TX as well as Jacksonville, FL, and Atlanta, GA.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with Enterprise CTOs,VP of Procurement and a complex network of stakeholders across our ecosystem to build oversight and optimization of our Technology Portfolio and associated contracts
  • Conduct assessment of current technology contracts, provide recommendations to optimize, and deliver on optimizations
  • Establish and implement best practices and standards for future technology supplier contracts
  • Provide a critical lens for risk management for technology and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to mitigate risk
  • Support the procurement process for all technology related products
  • Lead the onboarding/offboarding process for technology suppliers
  • Support the VP of Procurement on building a supplier management framework and ensure technology portfolio aligns with framework
  • Provide ongoing oversight of technology spend, identify opportunities for spend efficiency, and execute changes
  • Ensure all suppliers are documented, and data analytics are conducted
  • Monitor relevant metrics for technology portfolio and produce standard and ad hoc repots
  • Keep informed on innovations and trends in the technology space and identify opportunities for potential enhancements to our technology portfolio
  • Measure and work to enhance supplier diversity; partner with Opcos on brand recognition opportunities
  • Identify and execute on ESG opportunities where appropriate
  • Ensure all technology procurement processes comply with documented policy

Requirements

A successful candidate should possess expertise in technology procurement and contracts. This individual will be someone with sound financial knowledge who can successfully collaborate and influence across entities with varying business models

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, procurement, operations, finance, technology business administration, or another relevant field required.  MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in procurement, sourcing, operations, or related field with a focus in technology
  • Expertise in Technology contracting and negotiations
  • Additional expertise in various indirect spend categories
  • Procurement experience in Investment Management, Real Estate, Finance or Private Equity preferred
  • Expertise in negotiation and change management
  • Data driven, familiar with benchmarking and appropriate metrics and measures
  • Knowledge and practice of accounting and finance principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced skills with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in Procurement software/technology
  • Must live in the Charlotte, NC area (other locations that may be considered are Dallas, TX as well as Jacksonville, FL, and Atlanta, GA)
