Position / Title: Associate, Jr. Trader, Structured Credit
Pretium is a specialized alternative investment manager focused on real estate and credit. The Firm was founded in 2012 to capitalize on secular investment and lending opportunities that arose after the Global Financial Crisis as a result of structural changes within the economy, the residential housing sector, and mortgage finance markets. The Firm currently manages ~$20 billion of AUM across its single-family rental (~$12.7 billion) and mortgage credit (~$4.2 billion) strategies as well as ~$3.2 billion of AUM in Structured and Corporate Credit.
We are seeking a junior trader to assist our portfolio managers in our structured credit investment vehicles. This position will report to the Head of Structured Credit and is based in New York.
Interface with sell-side banks and brokers to facilitate deal-flow, executing trade orders, and generate trade ideas for our corporate structured products strategies
Assist portfolio managers in monitoring and analyzing portfolio positions and potential trade ideas
Prepare presentations and reports for investment committee, limited partners, and marketing purposes.
Work with strat team to further develop in-house analytics and research
Cultivate relationships with counterparties to further fund liquidity and investment flow
Liaise with operations, compliance, and risk to ensure trades settle properly and fund compliance with internal regulations.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience
Experience with Fixed Income and Asset-Backed Securities required. Strong preference for experience in Leveraged Loans and Collateralized Loan Obligations
Strong communication, analytical skillset, and able to manage multiple projects concurrently
Ability to structure / model complex transactions in Excel required
Familiarity with Intex, Bloomberg, Markit, and LoanX.
