The Prepared Montessorian’s Elementary Lead Guide Training is now open for enrollment!
This MACTE-accredited training course provides theoretical and practical preparation to become a Lead Elementary Guide for children ages 6 – 12. Course completion typically takes 24 months and includes the following components:
Academic Course: In-residency
Typically held in-person at The Prepared Montessorian Institute in California; summer 2021 held virtually due to Covid.
Academic Course: Distance Learning
The academic course includes the following areas of study: Montessori Philosophy and Child Development, Classroom Leadership and Observation, Mathematics, History, Geometry, Language, Physical Science and Geography, Biology, Fine Arts. Adult learners attend live, virtual seminars across the subject areas and engage in self-paced self-study of prerecorded lesson presentations.
The practicum course includes student teaching, observations, and practice with materials. Adult learners must have access to a fully equipped Montessori elementary classroom environment.
If you complete and pass all of the required components of our Elementary I/II Training Course and you already have a Bachelor’s Degree, you will receive a Full Diploma from our training center, which is accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE).
- Please complete the online application below by October 11, 2021.
- We will send a Recommendation Form to you, to be completed by your Manager or Reference. For those working at a Guidepost Montessori School, we will send this form directly to your Head of School on your behalf.
- We will get back to you for follow up or with a decision by October 15, 2021.
- Once accepted, training information and instructions will be emailed to you.
