Our Real World Evidence team is hiring a Director – Strategy to lead teams of research professionals advising clients on strategies for economics and outcomes research, evidence gaps and publications.
About You:
You are an experienced health economics and outcomes research consultant familiar with the pharmaceutical industry, medical affairs, and the payer and regulatory landscape in the United States or another key global market, evidenced by a track record of relevant publications.
You oversee evidence strategy plans (gap analysis, study prioritization and recommendation) and strategic communications (educational and strategic workshops, white papers, commentaries) and can clearly explain the rationale, methods/results, and strategy for studies to project teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
You understand strengths and limitations of alternative approaches and propose applications/solutions of new or existing methods tailored to a specific research question.
About The Role:
As a Director reporting into the Vice President of HEOR Strategy at PRECISIONheor, you will be overseeing multiple projects comprised of cross functional staff, serving as the project manager and primary client contact on the project.
As a project manager, you will be responsible for ensuring overall quality; develop recommendations based on expected impact; communicate risks and opportunities to ensure staff alignment; and assume the role of final decision maker able to overturn decisions and take accountability for outcomes. You will be accountable for timely delivery and financial performance across projects. You will review and sign off on deliverables as client ready including narrative literature syntheses, gap analyses, evidence strategy plans, and white papers or commentaries suitable for submission to external dissemination outlets as well as identify necessary deviations from templates to ensure content aligns with objectives
As a client manager, you will provide final sign-off on update slides/minutes and actions for overall study; own relationships with clients and be viewed as subject matter expert. You will act as advisor on client calls and in responses to emails as well as proactively manage client expectations and work with team members to implement strategies to problem solve on a client or project-basis.
In addition to research project responsibilities, Directors will be involved in business development, participating in sales calls, leading study conceptualization, and drafting proposals for clients. Directors will also have line management responsibilities which include ensuring appropriate staffing and creating development plans for their direct reports.
Required Experience:
8-10 years of experience, at least four in a consulting environment
Master’s degree in a subject related to health services research e.g., health economics, public policy, health policy, epidemiology, biostatistics, or public health
Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a diverse team
Awareness and understanding of financial performance on projects
Ability to line-manage and mentor direct reports and ensure positive staff wellbeing/team dynamic
Helpful Experience:
PhD in a subject related to health services research e.g., health economics, public policy, health policy, epidemiology, biostatistics, or public health
Willingness and desire to learn and share knowledge
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Pays attention to detail and performs quality checks of own work and that of others
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Highly developed reasoning and problem-solving skills

At Precision, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, parental leave, and paid time off for sick leave and vacation, among other benefits.
