PRECISIONadvisors Commercial Analytics Solutions (CAS) group operates within Precision Value & Health. The team’s mission is to empower US Market Access strategies of Biopharmaceutical companies to achieve optimal promotional effectiveness. We do this with data-driven solutions that uniquely harness unlimited access to a 300M+ patient claims data set that we leverage with PRECISION decision support tools that have demonstrated greater prediction accuracy than other consultancies. 

The Engagement Manager is responsible for the growth and development of consultative, analytic and data services supporting commercial performance of life science products as part of the PRECISIONadvisors team. As an Engagement Manager you will be responsible for cultivating key client relationships, identifying opportunities to enhance and grow current business, and coach and mentor the next generation of analytic consultants. 

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Manages project teams including both internal and external resources in the design, development, and delivery of client solutions
  • Takes a hands-on approach to client engagements including the writing and running of SQL queries to extract data from large-scale assets
  • Provides coaching and direction to junior staff (e.g., analysts, consultants) across multiple projects
  • Proactively mentors, coaches, and shares subject matter expertise with others to elevate our client engagement capabilities to deliver world-class solutions for clients
  • Proactively develops broader and deeper knowledge of consulting methodologies and pharmaceutical market through on-the-job experience and training, participation in conferences and symposiums, and other forums for professional knowledge sharing
  • Provides direction, advice and intellectual leadership to clients and delivery teams, through consistent participation in team meetings
  • Provide high level input and oversee the development of client records and presentations and delivers all or significant portions of findings to client leading ad hoc work streams on critical people-related issues such as recruitment, learning and development
  • Ensures clear communication throughout projects and amongst team
  • Serves as key point of contact with clients
  • Leverages business experience and acumen in identifying strategic alternatives and project approaches to client questions
  • Provides follow-up with client after project deliverable has been completed to ensure client satisfaction
  • Develops and/or elevates new business opportunities through the identification of follow-on work and new leads
  • Aids in the development of proposals and statements of work (SOWs) to help guide the scope of potential engagements
  • Supports the development of intellectual property for future use
  • Travel up to 33% 

Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

  • Postgraduate degree - MBA, MSc, PharmD, or PhD preferred
  • 4-7 years of work experience optimally in a professional service firm with analytical responsibilities
  • Excellent project management, mentoring of junior staff, and client influencing and relationship building skills
  • Experience with pharmaceutical datasets from vendors such as IQVIA, Symphony Health or Others (Xponent, LAAD, DDD, APLD, etc.)
  • Extensive experience in writing and using SQL queries to analyze large-scale datasets

Other Required:

  • Demonstrable experience in the following areas: leadership and influence in sizable and multi-disciplined teams, understanding and assessing client needs, incorporating in deliverables, and ensuring recommendations/results are implemented
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and work effectively across the organization to accomplish team goals is critical
  • Demonstrable experience in leading and growing junior analyst teams
  • Ability to understand and guide teams of junior analysts using specific programming languages, e.g., data languages such as SQL.  Experience with R and/or Python are a huge plus though not required.
  • Experience with exploring solutions in dashboard applications such as Tableau
  • Deep understanding of pharmaceutical/biotech business marketing, financial, or statistical analysis 
  • Capability to work effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals, convey results, incorporate enhancements, and standardize processes across projects is critical
  • Must possess ability to be resourceful, confident under pressure, and able to implement different methodologies to assess client needs and engage in effective dialog with Executive-level decision makers
  • Demonstrable interpretive and solution identification skills with the ability to understand multiple types of quantitative and qualitative data heightened with strong resolution skills
  • Analytic Skills: Framing macro problems into action steps or work plans for resolutions. 
  • Structuring a persuasive client presentation based on in-depth or expansive excel spreadsheets
  • The successful candidate must possess excellent judgment, management, and conflict resolution skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Broad understanding of contracts and key business levers in managed markets
  • Ability to contribute to business development through the identification of leads, development of proposals, knowledge of key issues, current developments, consulting methodologies, tools, and techniques in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries

This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Precision, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, parental leave, and paid time off for sick leave and vacation, among other benefits.
