We’re currently looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join our US team to deliver complex applications. You’ll be developing high-profile digital products for well-known clients while working within a supportive, cross-discipline product team.

About The Role: 

As a Machine Learning Engineer, your main focus is project work. You will be working closely with designers, coaches, and product leads, with guidance and mentoring from other members of the engineering team. You will join one of our friendly, supportive, proactive Agile product teams and you’ll be working closely with fellow developers, designers, and other team members. Our teams are self-organizing, with the freedom to define their own ways of working. 

Accountabilities:

  • Build, scale and evolve content personalization and machine learning algorithms
  • Analyze large scale data sets and extract meaningful information to improve user experience and content ecosystem
  • Design and implement machine learning models
  • Research and present summaries of state-of-the-art machine learning models
  • Replicate results of published machine learning papers
  • Produce production quality software, including automated testing
  • Implement optimally performing software using advanced multi-threaded concepts
  • Work closely with other software and machine learning engineers to present ideas and approaches
  • Participate in daily stand-up scrum meetings to share progress and obstacles   

About You:

We expect developers at Potato to be able to find creative solutions to technical problems and user needs, whilst also finding opportunities to optimize and simplify software. For this role, we’re looking for someone capable of supporting, guiding and empowering teams to produce excellent software, striking the right balance between perfection and delivery. 

You Must Have:

  • 2 or more years of professional experience in AI/ML programming
  • 2 or more years of Python professional development experience
  • Experience with optimizing ML models for cloud and on-device inferencing highly desired  
  • Performance optimization experience, including multithreading and GPU programming experience  
  • Desire to work in a multi-site distributed team using Agile/Scrum
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Hands-on experience working with deep learning toolkits such as PyTorch, Keras, Tensorflow, etc
  • Solid fundamentals in mathematics for machine learning

Ideally Also:

  • Experience building for scale: high traffic, big data, large feature sets
  • Experience building for performance and accessibility
  • Knowledge of testing, QA tools and methodologies
