About the Team
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Test Infrastructure team. This individual will be championing improvements to our testing strategy and will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of our testing infrastructure, ensuring high-quality software delivery, and fostering a culture of excellence within the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for improving software quality.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and lead a team of test infrastructure engineers, providing guidance, and support to ensure their growth and development.
- Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute a long-term vision for the test infrastructure, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall strategy and goals.
- Infrastructure Development: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of the testing infrastructure, reporting & observability capabilities and ensuring it meets the needs of the development teams and supports continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
- Platform Mindset: Showcase strong empathy for the users of the infrastructure and evangelize for improving developer experience of software testing.
- Quality Assurance: Work closely with software engineering teams to ensure high-quality & performant software delivery, through robust testing practices and processes.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve processes, tools, and practices within the team to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Innovation: Encourage and foster a culture of innovation within the team, staying abreast of industry trends and best practices.
- Technical Expertise: Serve as a technical expert and resource for the team, helping to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues as they arise.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on test infrastructure and automation.
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership or management role.
- Extensive experience with test automation tools, frameworks & methodologies (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
- Extensive experience building infrastructure that impacts hundreds of developers building products and platforms
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
