On June 30, 2023, Portfolio Advisors and FS Investments closed on a transaction to combine their respective firms. The combined firm has over $75 billion in assets under management and more than 500 employees. FS Investments was founded in 2007 and manages a suite of alternative strategies, including private credit, real estate credit, opportunistic credit, structured credit, liquid credit and liquid alternatives across a variety of fund structures, including business development companies, non-traded REITs and interval, closed-end and mutual funds. FS Investments is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with additional offices in New York, New York, Orlando, Florida and Leawood, Kansas.

PA is currently investing in its Portfolio Advisors Credit Strategies Fund (“PACSF”) that focuses on LP credit secondary investments with the additional flexibility to invest in GP credit secondary transactions and credit co-investments. PA is looking to add an Associate to the PACSF team located in Darien, CT.

This person will have the responsibility to assist the PACSF’s investment professionals in sourcing, underwriting and monitoring investment opportunities. Specifically, the individual will be involved with and responsible for:

  • Provide transactional support for the PACSF team.
  • Perform private credit transaction modeling.
  • Conduct market and company research.
  • Participate in due diligence calls.
  • Assist in all aspects of the transaction, including deal selection, pricing analysis, negotiation and execution.
  • Assist in all transaction documentation and presentations to investment committee.
  • Perform deal monitoring analysis.
  • Participation in identification of deal sourcing targets.
  • Perform other ad hoc projects.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • We seek an individual who is self-disciplined and demonstrates creative thinking.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university.
  • 2-3 years’ work experience in an investment banking, private equity or a consulting organization; or 2-3 years of secondary exposure.
  • Strong analytical, modeling, organizational and writing skills.
  • A professional presence coupled with relationship skills to interact effectively with internal and external parties.
  • A highly-motivated, self-starter with the ability work independently within a team context.
