At Pollen, we work with world famous artists like J Balvin, Justin Bieber and The Streets to curate unique multi-day experiences in locations such as Miami, Las Vegas and Amsterdam that you can’t book anywhere else. Our aim is to run experiences that contribute to 3 out of people’s top 5 memories. During Covid, we’ve brought our strategic plans forward and we’re ready to provide memorable experiences for everyone as it becomes safer for people to travel again - it’s an incredibly exciting time with lots of experiences coming up between now and the end of the year, and beyond.

Our Engineering teams build the web presence and app where our customers can choose an experience, book their package and manage their booking. We have just created a new part of the app that our customers can use “In Destination” to find their hotel when they arrive, book further add-ons like boat trips and look up the schedule of events for the experience.

We are looking for our first QA Manager at Pollen. This is a very exciting opportunity to be the first person in the discipline and grow a team of QA engineers. You will have a positive impact across the whole tech organisation of 12 cross functional teams, championing best practises and approaches. 

Over the next 12 months you will:

  • Understand and assess our current testing and advise teams what changes they need to make to improve their testing. You will write a testing strategy outlining our current testing challenges and how to start resolving them over the next 6-9 months
  • Grow the team by hiring 3 QA engineers - each one will be aligned to a specific Collective and help the teams in that Collective. You will be an excellent people manager
  • Work with teams on a case by case basis to think about testing up front as part of the implementation of features & work with Principal engineers on how to test parts of our infrastructure - e.g. the queuing system
  • Take ownership of the current manual testing process ahead of launches, and automate the main user journeys so we can scale to having ~600 experiences a year launch
  • Bug raising process - ensure bugs raising process is clear and that they make it to the right teams in good time. Categorise the bugs and report on them
  • Measure how quality has increased by tracking reduction in bugs and incidents, along with taking ownership of quality metrics across engineering - number of releases rolled back, number of incidents, number of P1 bugs being reduced over time
