Pollen is seeking a Talent Acquisition Intern as part of the Kickstart Scheme to help us find and attract some of the best talent in the consumer tech and travel spaces. Having created a new market in travel and entertainment, our curated travel offering continues to grow exponentially, which is creating a demand for talent in key areas such as leadership, tech, artist partnerships and marketing.

At Pollen, our vision is to be responsible for 3/5 of people’s top memories. By the end of 2021, we expect hundreds of thousands of people to be finding and purchasing experiences through the Pollen marketplace. We’re on plan to double our 350 strong headcount in the next 12 months with offices in London, Los Angeles, Toronto, Vegas & Wroclaw, and backing from some of the most exciting VC's in the world, this is an exciting time to be at Pollen

As part of the Talent team you will Support the Talent Acquisition and People teams in the recruitment and onboarding of talent, conduct extensive research around our competitors and potential candidates, support the rollout of our new candidate experience initiative, execute outreach campaigns to candidates on LinkedIn using existing templates, support the management of inbound candidate applications and pitch the Pollen dream to candidates.

In the next 6 months you will learn:

  • Headhunting - identifying and attracting world class talent from the biggest tech companies in the world.
  • Sales - we will train you on the art of selling the Pollen dream!
  • Communication - working with multiple stakeholders on a day to day basis.
  • Systems & Process - how to streamline operations.
  • People operations- you will learn about the inner workings of an HR function.
  • Deal making - how to help two parties agree terms.

Skills (nice to have but not a prerequisite):

  • Client or customer-facing experience. 
  • Ability to navigate google & gmail as well as social media.
  • Ability to sell - we’re in the business of selling dream opportunities in line with our mission to give people a bigger life.
  • A desire and knack for working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Punctuality and an ability to work to deadlines.
  • Computer literate, with experience of writing emails.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Problem solving skills. Even if you don’t have prior experience in something, you will seek advice, learn and go again till you find a solution.
  • Resilience - never say die approach to your work and an ability to keep plugging away even when luck doesn’t appear to be on your side.

Number of hours per week: 25

Working pattern and contracted hours (including any shift patterns): 5h per day, 5 days per week (this may vary some weeks, give or take hours on certain days)

Hourly rate of pay: National Minimum Wage

We will ensure that anyone who joins Pollen as an intern will come away in a much stronger place than when they joined.

As such, all interns will receive the following training and support:

  • Interview workshops
  • Career Strategy workshops featuring advice from people from the following departments:

-Marketing

-Sales

-Software Engineering

-Product Management

-Design

-Operations

-Finance

-Communications

-People (HR)

-Talent Acquisition

Interns will come away armed with a vision for how to position their personal professional brand in the careers marketplace, with the ability to navigate a 3-4 stage interview process (as well as how to tackle a panel interview) and most importantly, they will come away knowing the steps they need to take to get to where they want to be in life.

As well as this, we will ensure that the actual on-the-job experience they accrue with us is valuable and that they can use these 6 months as a proper springboard for their career.

Finally, even after they have finished their contract with us, our Talent Acquisition team will still be on hand to support them with interview preparation and how to get ahead of the competition for their desired opportunities.
