Pollen has evolved from a business that primarily sold 3rd party experiences through our marketplace platform, to focusing on partnering with some of the biggest music artists, promoters and celebrities in the world to curate our own experiences. 

Throughout the second half of 2021 and into 2022 we’ll be launching 100s of multi-day travel experiences only available on our platform - having already launched with multiple award-winning artists and partners, including Justin Bieber, J Balvin, Ozuna, and Brett Young. 

Whilst our core business remains focused on expanding across a range of music genres, Pollen has identified two strategic new verticals to ensure our continued long-term growth - Active Travel and Family Travel. The Revenue team is forming a cross-functional “pod” within the wider business to develop these new growth areas. 

Active Travel aims to capture a share of the multi-billion-dollar health and wellness market by establishing unique multi-day travel experiences centred around physical activities (from fitness workouts to endurance sports) by partnering with some of the world’s greatest sportspeople and brands. Pollen has already secured partnerships with the likes of Sir Bradley Wiggins (Cycling), The Brownlee Brothers (Triathlon) and Marshawn “Beastmode” Lynch (NFL). Family Travel will see us adapt our ‘secret sauce’ to tailor experiences perfect for families and disrupt the global package vacation sector. 

This role, reporting to the VP Revenue, will help drive these new vertical opportunities from ideation to scale-up. 

In the first 12 months you will:

  • Understand our target audiences: collaborating with our Insights team you will set out to gain a deep understanding of our target audiences for Active and Family Travel experiences - who they are, how they travel, their package preferences. You will need a data-driven mindset and keen analytical skills.
  • Build a best-in-class content strategy: you will develop a clear content strategy determining the ‘moments’, destinations, itineraries and partner brands that will give us the highest chance of success. You should feel comfortable building a vision and direction of travel for an entirely new business entity, and have the flexibility to adapt as you learn more. 
  • Convert a pipeline of partners: working with our business development managers, you will actively drive a pipeline of potential partners from initial lead generation, through incremental proposal stages to the signing of contracts. 
  • Tailor products perfectly for our target audiences: in partnership with our insights team you will become an expert on our target audiences and will build products that are perfectly tailored to their needs.
  • Develop the launch playbook: working closely with launch marketing and operations, you will take a test-and-learn-approach to how best to sell out our new Active and Family Travel campaigns so that they hit their required fill rates.
  • Lead cross-functional teams: you will lead a cross-functional ‘pod’, and need to have the interpersonal and management skills to deal with a wide variety of different stakeholders. 
  • Manage a portfolio of P&Ls: you will be taking responsibility for a portfolio of multi-million dollar P&Ls, so you should have the attention to detail to ensure that we’re maintaining our desired margin levels. 
  • Playbook our GTM strategy: in the run up to our Series C round of funding, you will work with the VP Revenue to clearly define our evidence-based GTM strategy for Active and Family Travel.
