Summary of the Role

The Licensing Coordinator is an integral team member reporting to the Manager, Licensing and has two main areas of responsibility: 1) supporting the Hardlines and Softlines businesses, particularly new product development related to growth in Australia/New Zealand under our Agent relationship with Haven, and 2) supporting the entire Licensing team by taking point on consolidated Licensing deliverables for internal Pokemon stakeholders and consolidated team communications to external partners.


What You Will Do

  • Product Approvals: Review approvals system daily for assigned Licensees. Update managers on items submitted and needing attention.
  • Licensee Liaison: Aggregate and communicate monthly new product launch report to internal Pokemon stakeholders. Deliver consolidated licensing team communications to external partners (forecast timelines, PR announcements, business updates, etc.).
  • Contractual Product Samples: Manage flow of contractual samples from Hardlines and Softlines licensees. This includes unpacking boxes, distributing samples across teams and organizing the samples room.
  • Retail Placement: Stay on top of product launches and retail placement through the creation of a current retail placement report for key accounts.
  • Legal Support: Track progress of contract renewals and amendments. Partner with Legal/Contract Administration to ensure Hardlines and Softlines partners have Manufacturing Agreements and/or Customs Letters in place in a timely fashion. Support Legal team efforts to remove unauthorized product from e:commerce sites.
  • Event Planning & Tradeshows: participate and assist with the planning and attendance of annual Licensing Summits, Licensing Show, Toy Fair and other trade shows and events to ensure all events are turn-key. Manage Licensing team meeting calendar.
  • Embrace the Pokémon Brand: Keep up to date on Pokémon’s wide range of product offerings and content, inclusive of the Animated series, Trading Card Game, Video Games and Mobile. Use this knowledge to inform day to day activities.


What You Will Bring

  • Education: BS or BA Degree and/or equivalent working experience.
  • Experience:  2-3 years related experience, with previous experience in merchandise licensing, manufacturing or related field a plus. 
  • Functional Knowledge: Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.  
  • Curiosity: Desire to learn the Licensing business, take on new responsibilities and recommend process improvements where appropriate.
  • Cover Letter Required.
