About the Point72’s Procurement Team

The Procurement team manages the purchasing process for Point72 and related entities to maximize cost savings and avoidance through negotiation, RFPs (request for proposals), and vendor benchmarking.  The team also oversees the firm’s travel agent, obtains the most favorable rates for hotels, airlines and other travel expenses, and manages the firm’s corporate and purchasing card programs and employee devices.

 

What you’ll do

We are looking for an eager and committed Procurement Analyst to help manage the operational aspects of our group. As you develop the skills and expertise in our processes, the responsibilities of the role may increase over time, allowing you to grow and further develop in your career. Specifically, you will:

  • Interact with business owners, Procurement team, and other cross-functional teams on a daily basis, understanding their procurement requirements and developing and implementing strategies to meet both short and long-term business objectives
  • Track performance of the organization’s spend, supply market, costs, and tiers of suppliers; Identify expense reduction/management opportunities and development of strategies to realize those opportunities
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships with assigned key/strategic suppliers to optimize financial and operational performance; leverage the organization’s buying power to optimize costs, access new suppliers, reduce lead times, and guarantee supply
  • Partner with Legal to initiate, negotiate, and execute contracts (terms) with suppliers
  • Develop, issue and manage the process for bids/RFP (requests for proposal) process along with RFIs (requests for information), RFQs (requests for quotations) for products and services
  • Work with internal teams (Info Security, Compliance, Tax, HR, Accounts Payable) to ensure that vendors are performing in accordance with existing requirements and regulatory obligations
  • Create and monitor purchase orders in the Procurement system and all associated activities up to payment to the supplier, including the resolution of performance and delivery issues
  • Make improvements to processes, procedures, workflow, reporting and organizational structures for spend and contract management
  • Lead/assist on various procurement projects

 

What’s required

  • Undergraduate degree in business, supply chain, finance, economics, or related field
  • Minimum of one year of procurement/strategic sourcing experience
  • Eager to learn, grow, and develop new skills
  • Experience preferred in maintenance, repair and operational procurement services including technology, telecommunications, facilities and business operations products and services
  • Working knowledge of procurement and supply chain management principles; Understanding of contract structure, terms and conditions as well as contract law
  • Supplier relationship management experience including supplier review, selection, negotiation and on-going management; Experience working with stakeholders in a customer-focused and service-based environment
  • Experience driving, planning, developing and executing category commodity management strategies including category assessment and development of detailed commodity strategy
  • Experience developing bids and negotiation and administration of contracts
  • Strong technology skills including proficiency with PC software applications such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills/experience
  • Experience analysing and recommending changes to drive continuous improvement in procurement processes
