To help us define the future of storytelling on mobile, we are looking for a Product Manager on the Storytelling New Projects team to develop games and projects focused on narrative storytelling and character building. 

What We’ve Accomplished:

  • Developed and launched Episode, creating a brand new “interactive story” category in mobile games that has garnered over 350 million downloads.
  • Turned Episode into a user-generated content platform, allowing user creators to publish over 160,000 interactive stories for our players.

What You'll Do:

  • Work in an environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction.
  • Iterate on and develop hypotheses for player journeys using feedback from data analysis and user testing, and competitive analysis.
  • Combine creativity with business impact in an entrepreneurial environment by working with world-class UX and Game Designers, Engineers and fellow Product Managers to:
    • Design: Create and iterate on engaging and innovative features and systems to create our next hit game.  
    • Build: Wireframe and project manage new features as part of an agile product development process
    • Test: Set and analyze success metrics for product health, and rigorously test and optimize for them over time to deliver exceptional business results
    • Lead: Guide a cross-functional team to drive growth for new projects

What You Bring to the Product Management Team:

  • 4+ years of games or entertainment industry experience as a product manager. 
  • Up to date with current trends in free-to-play mobile games and understand the pros and cons of the decisions that different games make.
  • Experienced in quantitative analysis and have the ability to refine hypotheses/models by digging into user data.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and production schedules.
  • Crave constant feedback that helps you make your game design better.
  • Strong design mentality and intuition for game mechanics.
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills and ability to refine hypotheses/models by digging into user data and iteratively improving metrics.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in quantitative discipline (CS, Engineering, Math, Econ, etc.).
  • Ability to write clear and concise specs for new features.

Extra Gems For:

  • B.S. / M.S.in a quantitative/technical discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Economics, Data Science, etc.) and/or MBA
  • Experience working on a prototype 
  • Specific experience in any of the following:
    • Interactive story games
    • Startup experience 
    • Engineering/software development
    • A/B testing

The range provided is Pocket Gems’ reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as location, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. In addition, this position is eligible for annual performance bonuses and equity.
