We are a technology company looking to change the way advertisers approach marketing in a more privacy focused world. We are looking for a talented Head of Engineering to lead software development and help evolve our marketing technology platform, Alli. Role is based in our Dallas, Texas office. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the engineering team, ensuring alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization, delivering to PMG’s ambitious roadmap.

  • Develop and implement engineering strategies, plans, and initiatives to optimize team performance and deliver high-quality software products on time.

  • Drive the adoption of best practices, coding standards, and agile methodologies across the development team.

  • Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts to build a strong and talented engineering team.

  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and career growth.

  • Collaborate closely with product management, design, and other cross-functional teams to ensure effective coordination and timely delivery of projects.

  • Monitor and evaluate team productivity and performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in ad tech to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

  • Act as a technical advisor and escalation point for critical issues, providing guidance and support to the team as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience (15+ years) in software development, with at least 7 years in a leadership role within a fast-paced, technology-driven company.

  • Strong technical background and expertise in ad tech, including knowledge of advertising platforms, programmatic advertising, real-time bidding, and ad exchanges.

  • Proficient in programming languages such as Java, PHP, Node.js or Golang with experience in developing scalable and highly available systems.

  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies, agile practices, and continuous integration/delivery processes.

  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing high-performing engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering practical and innovative solutions.

  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience working in the ad tech industry, specifically with advertising platforms, demand-side platforms (DSPs), or supply-side platforms (SSPs).

  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and data analysis techniques for optimizing ad targeting and performance.

  • Familiarity with big data technologies, such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery or Snowflake.

  • Active participation in industry events, conferences, and open-source communities.

  • Managing large spend from cloud partners such as AWS, and effectively optimizing costs.
