We're seeking a Senior VFX Artist with an extensive background in early prototyping and VFX production for video games. This person will be an expert in VFX for games with knowledge of both the artistic and technical aspects of the job, and the experience and passion to back it up. You will contribute on all matters relating to FX, helping to drive the quality and efficiency of the team, and projects forward. Given that we are currently a small team, the ideal candidate would be proficient in shader creation as well.

What You'll Do:

  • Create outstanding VFX that help set a high quality bar for the team and product;
  • Help establish an efficient VFX production pipeline;
  • Fast prototyping of character abilities to support playtests and rapid iteration of software;
  • Help develop a signature VFX style for the product;
  • Provide VFX for a diverse  variety of ability types including magical & technological themed character abilities, interactive feedback for props and UI, and environmental assets; 
  • Creating VFX using Unity’s VFX and Shader Graphs;
  • Maintain clean, organized VFX and Shader libraries;
  • Work closely with the core creative team as well as the design team to ensure VFX service design, art, and narrative needs;
  • Self-Motivation, excellent communication skills with a constructive, passionate, and collaborative approach;
  • Contribute to areas of development outside of VFX including feedback sessions;
  • Mentors, collaborates with, and helps to guide other artists on the team

What We Expect From You:

  • A love of stylized VFX and artwork;
  • Prefers smaller sized teams and collaboration;
  • Experience with cutting edge techniques and technology related to VFX;
  • A strong portfolio highlighting a variety of VFX types and styles focused on over-the-top character abilities;
  • Strong experience as a VFX Artist and at least one shipped title in an VFX Artist role;
  • Solution oriented, team player, communicates without being asked;
  • Experience with Unity and Unreal;

Plus:

  • Proficient at 2D flipbook style VFX;
  • Outsource experience.
