TPT is looking for a Director, Brand Partnerships to cover the West Coast, specifically Los Angeles. The candidate will be based in LA, reporting to the VP, Brand Partnerships based in New York. This new role is a key expansion to the TPT Sales team, and will be closely connected with other Account Executives in the New York office as well as another new Director covering the Midwest.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of sales generation against the assigned agency/client list
  • Establish a collaborative business relationship between TPT and Fortune 500 companies, and their marketing agencies 
  • Create consultative sales presentations to demonstrate how TPT can be leveraged to connect with consumers 
  • Help advertisers build and execute effective campaigns, measure results, and renew / up-sell to drive revenue growth
  • Generate a high volume of sales, prospects, presentations, RFPs and deals
  • Deliver weekly sales pipeline and closed business reports to senior management
  • Educate and train clients/agencies about The Players Tribune unique product/content offerings and how we can deliver against their marketing objectives
  • Convey client feedback to the product/editorial team to deliver on next steps
  • Travel when necessary based on agency and client lists
  • Mentor new team members as our organization grows

Required Qualifications / Skills:

  • 5-7 years of experience working in Sales / Partnerships with Fortune 500 companies and advertising agencies
  • Established relationships with marketing decision makers at companies and agencies 
  • Entrepreneur mindset – a hardworking, creative thinker who possesses the bandwidth to wear many hats in an ever-changing environment
  • Ability to negotiate, structure and close complex brand partnership deals
  • Strong knowledge of media metrics, social media, technologies and research tools used in the marketplace
  • Passionate for brand storytelling in a sports context
  • Strong organization/project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a working knowledge of Powerpoint, Keynote and Excel
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Internet and online advertising plus the various platforms, creative units/executions and current competitive landscape
  • Aptitude, creativity, and a preference for working in small, collaborative teams
