The Players’ Tribune is a new media company that provides athletes with a platform to connect directly with their fans, in their own words. Founded by Derek Jeter, The Players’ Tribune publishes first-person stories from athletes, providing unique insight into the daily sports conversation. Through impactful and powerful long and short form stories, video series and podcasts, The Players’ Tribune brings fans closer than ever to the games they love.

TPT is seeking a fiscally responsible logistics-minded Production Coordinator to join their growing content team.  The Production Coordinator will be instrumental in helping to implement production, accounting, and project-tracking processes to optimize operational efficiencies as we scale in 2018 and beyond.

The person in this role will need to be able to identify the potential production obstacles and risks associated with the creative overview of a project and be ready to discuss solutions that work both for the creative vision & the best interests of management. Additionally, the candidate should have a solid grasp of the digital climate and the ability to handle a fast paced environment whilst simultaneously supervising several projects in various phases of production, and processes in various stages of implementation.

In this role, you will:

  • Help maintain our project database, which tracks all videos, articles, and podcasts through all stages of production
  • Help ensure that the Production & Publishing teams are in consistent communication about the status of content (videos, articles, podcast) in production
  • Ensure that content team project-related expenses are being coded and reconciled as per TPT’s production accounting protocol
  • Communicate daily with TPT’s content teams to help track their myriad projects and ensure that they are adhering to TPT’s production processes
  • Work with external vendors/parties to obtain shooting locations, permits, services and purchase quotes as needed
  • Help onboard new content hires and familiarize them with production and operational processes
  • Track equipment reservations and ensure that there are no double-bookings / conflicts
  • Take notes in meetings and communicate outstanding/open items to TPT’s Head of Production

Who were looking for:

  • Advanced knowledge of Movie Magic Budgeting & Movie Magic Scheduling
  • Proficient with Google Sheets/Docs/Slides
  • Must have great communication skills and be able to give and receive critical feedback in a small team environment
  • Ability to work in high pressure, fast-paced production environment with quick turnarounds
  • Ability to adapt to changes in production plan / schedules
  • Knowledgeable of social media and digital video platforms
  • 3+ years experience working in a fast-paced professional environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Communication or related field
