TPT is seeking an experienced Video Editor to join our growing video team.  The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the post-production process, and be an avid observer of content trends and developments in the digital publishing world, specifically Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.  

We're looking for someone who is active on all social platforms and is excited about testing potential edit strategies for each. The Video Editor will primarily be focused on creating new edits from archival footage and creating compelling video versions of audio podcasts and written articles through the incorporation of stock images/video and original illustrations/animations and aesthetically-pleasing text treatment.The ideal candidate will also have experience editing unscripted content for digital platforms and the ability to craft a compelling narrative.

In this role, you will:

  • Edit a wide range of video content including, but not limited to: platform-optimized cutdowns of both newly captured and archival long-form videos, visually-compelling video adaptations of written articles and audio podcasts,
  • Edit different versions of a source video, with each version being optimized for the destination social platform
  • Experiment with edits that are optimized to incorporate newly released features of social platforms (eg; Instagram releasing a ‘polling’ feature for IG Stories)
  • Quickly assemble edits and implement notes from producers and creative team members
  • Track performance of your videos once published/released and utilize both quantitative and qualitative historical data to influence future edits
  • Mentor junior video team members and help them develop their post-production knowledge and skills

Who were looking for:

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud apps including Premiere Pro and Media Encoder
  • Knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator is also helpful
  • Motion graphics and titling experience a plus
  • Understanding of basic color correction, sound design, and sound mixing within Premiere
  • An active user of all social platforms
  • Experience editing unscripted web content and/or documentary work is a plus
  • Must have great communication skills and be able to give and receive critical feedback in a small team environment
  • Ability to follow workflow guidelines and naming conventions
  • Ability to work in high pressure, fast-paced production environment with quick turnarounds
  • Ability to adapt to changes in production plan/schedules
