Objective:

PJT Partners seeks to hire a motivated candidate into the finance department who will perform high quality financial controls and reporting obligations and participate in a range of core accounting functions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the firms revenue controllership function, as well as having the opportunity to contribute across the broader global finance team.

This role also provides an opportunity to interact with members of the firm across each of our lines of business and will have the ability to contribute controllership expertise across the breadth of the finance function.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will be to perform day-to-day general ledger accounting, accounting analysis around revenue recognition, client invoicing, financial reporting, and other activities, as detailed below.

Financial Accounting, Reporting, and Analysis

  • Review client contracts and perform analysis for accounting treatment under ASC 606 revenue recognition
  • Work closely with deal teams and Business Unit COO to support financial decision making process primarily around revenue recognition and support ad-hoc requests
  • Maintain and complete documentation to support financial transactions and accounting conclusions
  • Perform daily accounting processes including journal entries, account reconciliations and general ledger transactions in order to maintain accurate financial information in the Workday accounting system
  • Perform client invoicing for fees, manage status and aging schedule of the accounts receivable, and handle client inquiries
  • Perform the month-end close process including revenue and accounts receivable reconciliation and preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports
  • Learn and contribute to key accounting policies and procedures
  • Assist in strategic process change and enhancements by partnering with Technology or using firm’s internal systems and software.

Qualifications:

We seek to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition, qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting
  • 1-3 years in an accounting related field
  • CPA and public accounting experiences preferred
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities
  • Strong skills in organization, time management, and professionalism
  • Achieves closure to tasks within pre-determined deadlines with strong ownership
  • Proactively supports policies and procedures to improve performance
  • Strong computer and analytical skills

Expected annualized base salary of $85,000 to $100,000.

This range represents the low and high ends of the expected annualized base salary for this position. The specific base salary received by any employee will be informed by a number of factors, including but not limited to, role level and scope, location, candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills and experience.

Base salary is one component of PJT Partners’ compensation structure. In addition to base salary, PJT Partners’ compensation structure may include additional rewards, incentives and benefits, including but not limited to, a discretionary bonus component.
