Responsibilities:

This role will be integrated into a dynamic and collaborative Legal and Compliance Team and will have the opportunity to work with various members of the Legal and Compliance Team across a variety of projects, including hands-on learning with experienced attorneys relating to different investment banking legal responsibilities. Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting lawyers in drafting, negotiating and reviewing key documents, including engagement letters, vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements and other client-facing documents.
  • Coordinating and managing the non-disclosure agreement process.
  • Assisting the business teams in successful deal execution.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis on various corporate and regulatory matters.
  • Assisting with litigation matters and management of the litigation process.
  • Assisting in the management of corporate records and compliance documentation.
  • Staying informed about changes in relevant laws and regulations impacting the financial industry.
  • Supervising and assisting with various Legal and Compliance Team special projects and initiatives.
  • Providing other relevant support to the Legal and Compliance Team.

Qualifications:

PJT Partners seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition, qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Intention to stay in this position for a minimum of two years.
  • Microsoft Word and Excel skills required, must be able to learn new software applications.
  • Experience with non-disclosure agreements and other legal documentation is preferred.
  • Adaptable to change.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
  • High degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

Expected annualized base salary of $65,000 to $75,000.

This range represents the low and high ends of the expected annualized base salary for this position. The specific base salary received by any employee will be informed by a number of factors, including but not limited to, role level and scope, location, candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills and experience.

Base salary is one component of PJT Partners’ compensation structure. In addition to base salary, PJT Partners’ compensation structure may include additional rewards, incentives and benefits, including but not limited to, a discretionary bonus component.
