Role Description:

The Strategic Advisory Group is one of the most experienced investment banking teams in the industry, and has been involved in some of the largest, most complex transactions of the past twenty years. Our global team focuses on a diverse set of industries, including, technology media telecommunications, energy, power & utilities, industrials, healthcare, real estate, gaming and leisure, and consumer retail.

The Strategic Capital Markets Advisory team is an extremely active and fast-growing group within PJT. The team is based across the New York and London offices with frequent collaboration across regions. The team has >100 professionals globally focused on equity, private capital, debt and structured products. The team advised on over $130bn of capital markets advisory transactions in 2023 alone. The London team has been active on some of the most high-profile transactions in the market over the past 12 months for both sponsors and corporates, including for Porsche SE, EGYM, Sodexo, Solvac, EG Group, ASDA, ASOS, Currenta and Energy Infrastructure Partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Associates within the Capital Markets Advisory Group work directly with public and private companies across all stages of growth and industries in evaluating, structuring and recommending financial alternatives across equity and equity linked products
  • Associates typically work on a wide variety of equity transactions including IPOs, spin-offs, rights issues, M&A financings, minority investments and private placements
  • PJT’s structure offers professionals the unique opportunity to gain client exposure and work closely with senior members of the Strategic Advisory team, many of whom were previously group heads at leading investment banking firms
  • Day-to-day responsibilities include: analysing capital structures, defining capital needs, evaluating different capital raise options, facilitating due diligence and discussions with investors, companies, legal counsel and advisors
  • Associates receive broad-based exposure to the full spectrum of complex issues that arise in capital markets transactions, including capital raising through both the public and private markets, mergers and acquisitions, growth financing, asset-level financing and others

Requirements:

To be considered for the position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Circa 4 years of experience in equity capital markets, equity linked, leveraged finance or sector investment banking team at a leading investment bank
  • Resume must include graduation month/year and GPA
  • Resume must be in PDF format

Qualifications:

We seek to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and are proven self-starters.

  • In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, the successful candidate should have excellent communication skills, a demonstrated ability to write effectively, interests outside of work and a desire to work in a team environment
  • A strong background in finance, accounting and legal documentation is required as you will be responsible for structuring and executing financing transactions, including equity, equity-linked, and private capital solutions
