The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer who embodies the qualities that make our current team exceptional: technical excellence combined with sharp product intuition. This role goes beyond just writing code – you'll be a key player in shaping our technical strategy and product decisions.

What Sets Our Team Apart

  • We're builders who understand the "why" behind every feature and can see the entire system holistically
  • We know when to make pragmatic trade-offs between perfect code and shipping valuable features
  • We maintain high standards while being practical about delivery timelines
  • We think strategically about technical decisions and their long-term impact
  • We're comfortable with the ambiguity and rapid iteration typical in a fast-growing startup

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with product managers to shape product strategy, focusing on impactful solutions rather than just technical elegance
  • Lead technical architecture discussions with an emphasis on practical, scalable solutions that align with business goals
  • Design and implement systems that balance immediate needs with long-term scalability
  • Make pragmatic decisions about technical debt, knowing when to optimize and when to ship
  • Drive engineering excellence through mentorship, code reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Lead complex technical initiatives from conception to deployment across our full stack
  • Proactively identify opportunities for system improvements while maintaining focus on business priorities
  • Design and implement AI-powered features using LLMs to enhance clinical workflows and improve patient care delivery

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience in fast-paced startup environments
  • Proven track record of shipping complex features end-to-end
  • Strong product intuition and ability to challenge requirements when necessary
  • Experience making architectural decisions that stood the test of time
  • Deep expertise in modern frontend frameworks (React preferred) and NodeJS backend development
  • Strong understanding of database design and optimization (PostgreSQL)
  • Experience building and shipping LLM-based features in production environments

Key Qualities

  • Bias toward action: You know when to dive deep and when to move fast
  • Systems thinking: You can see how individual components fit into the larger architecture
  • Product mindset: You understand user needs and business impact, not just technical requirements
  • Pragmatic perfectionism: You know when to make trade-offs between perfect and practical
  • Leadership potential: You raise the bar for the entire team through your work and mentorship

Technical Skills

  • Frontend: Advanced React, state management, performance optimization
  • Backend: NodeJS ecosystem (Remix, Next.js, or similar), API design
  • Database: PostgreSQL, query optimization, schema design
  • DevOps: Cloud infrastructure (GCP), CI/CD pipelines
  • Mobile: Experience with or strong interest in React Native
  • AI/ML: Experience developing LLM-powered features and integrating AI models into production applications
  • Experience leveraging LLMs and AI tools to enhance development productivity

Why You’ll Love Us

  • We're a team of pragmatic builders focused on making real impact in healthcare
  • We maintain high standards while staying humble
  • We believe in sustainable pace and long-term thinking
  • Remote-friendly culture with regular in-person team off-sites
  • Comprehensive benefits package including equity, healthcare, and professional development

Benefits Designed For You and Yours

  • Stock Option Plan
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance
  • 401K Retirement Plan
  • Mileage and Cell Phone Reimbursement
  • Annual Wellness Allowance
  • Professional and Personal Development Annual Allowance
  • FSA and Dependent Care FSA
  • 10 Paid Holidays
  • Paid Time Off
  • Paid Sick days

If you're energized by the challenge of building impactful healthcare technology and want to join a team that values both technical excellence and practical delivery, we'd love to talk to you.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
